FGC Gathering Quaker Art Center 2019

Exhibition and Programming Proposal Instructions

Quaker Arts Center

Grinnell College

June 30 – July 6, 2019

Registration Directions

Please visit and review news about this year’s Quaker Arts Center.  We especially encourage proposals in response to the Gathering’s theme, though general entries also are welcome. For details, visit the QAC web page,

There are two sections in the registration / proposal form below. The first section is for EXHIBITION; the second section is for PROGRAMMING. Exhibition includes fiber arts, literary arts, multimedia arts, 2D- and 3D-arts, and more. Programming includes live performance art, poetry readings, art demos and activities, discussions, and more.

Proposals are welcome in both sections (exhibition and programming) by the same person or group. For each section, up to 2 items may be proposed.  Where there are 2 items proposed in a section, it is anticipated that at least 1 will be selected. Due to very limited exhibition space, it is unlikely that more than 1 item will be selected. There may be limited opportunity to exhibit larger pieces in a foyer or other unlocked space that would be open to the public during building hours.

For persons exhibiting art work, a brief program is encouraged. Some ideas include spoken word, an art activity, or question-and-answer visit.  Please note that this year’s presentations by exhibition participants are integrated with the week’s programming (not during the QAC reception).

For those who will not attend the Gathering, but wish to submit items for a an internet-based presentation, the deadline for submission is May 31st. Submit work to Bonnie Zimmer, committee clerk at: fqaquakers@gmail.com

Participation at QAC requires registration FGC’s Gathering Page.  Remember artwork may not be sold QAC.  If you wish to sell artwork visit the Consignment Link by May 31st.

Finally, please read the complete registration form in advance to prepare accurate details, and review your responses before submitting. If you have questions, please email us – quakerartscenter@gmail.com . Thanks for your interest! Stay tuned for news about your proposal, including a participation agreement and guide.  Link to proposal data input form.

Last date for registration is May 31.

You will receive confirmation of the pieces included in the show by June 15th.

There will be a limited opportunity and space for late registrations.
